You may ask, "Why can't the seeds I planted germinate?" Here are some common tips:
Avoid direct hot sunlight! Dubai is a hot city, and excessive sunlight exposure can dehydrate seeds or seedlings. My experience is to germinate indoors, and after sprouting, place them in an environment suitable for their preferences based on the plant's needs.
Water moderately! Seeds need moisture to germinate, but they also need air. Drought will affect the germination speed of plants, but prolonged soaking will cause seeds to rot! I like to check on the seeds twice a day, spraying just a little water each time, keeping the soil slightly moist.
Cover with soil moderately! Burying too deep will slow down germination, while burying too shallow can lead to plant lodging or risk of dehydration. I suggest covering the seeds with about 2-5mm of soil, and after the seedlings grow a bit taller, stabilize the plants by adding more soil.
Most importantly, maintain patience and confidence. Seed germination time varies from 1 week to 1 month, and it's crucial not to disturb the soil during this process. I wish everyone success in growing your own plants.
